In the spring of 2001, four guys who were all members of
the Fun Center Chordsmen, and loved to sing barbershop harmony,
came together to see if they blended well enough to form
a quartet. And as it turned out, Bravada was born and they
began to work hard, to ring chords and improve.
Bravada is a registered quartet and one of the three quartets
within the Fun Center Chordsmen that participate in the Young
Men In Harmony program (YMIH). Bravada goes to area Middle
and High Schools to show the young men and women what barbershop
harmony singing is all about.
The members of Bravada believe that singing in a quartet
is definitely the epitome of the barbershop, four part, a
cappella harmony experience. They have performed at Father/Son
and Mother's Day banquets, Assisted Living and Nursing facilities, private parties,
group functions and participate in the chapter's Singing
Valentines program. They have performed on the Fun Center
Chordsmen annual show since 2002 and have been known to sing
for their supper in area restaurants.
Bravada, as a quartet has attended the three day Johnny
Appleseed District barbershop school, Apple Corps, and received
quartet coaching from the 1991 Gold Medalist quartet, The
Ritz. They have also attended the Intensive Quartet Trainging (POP GUN). They rehearse every Wednesday evening and attend coaching session on a regular basis. Their singing coach is Mark Stock, Bass of the 2008 International Medalist Seniors quartet, "Test of Time." Bravada is serious about their hobby and continue to work hard and have fun!
Tim Brandt is the tenor, joining Bravada in 2002. Tim serves as the Chorus Manager and Tenor section leader. He is retired from the Richland
County Soil and Water Conservation Service. Tim is currently employed by Lowes in Mansfield. He has been an active
member of his church choir for many years. He has been a member of the Chordsmen since 2001.
Trevor Garrabrant is the lead singer in the quartet as of January 2008. Trevor is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in Music Education. He is an assistant director of the Fun Center Chordsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus. While at BGSU he sang in the men's chorus and a quartet. He is the vocal music teacher at Crestview Middle School and High School and is the assistant marching band director, coach of the eighth grade girls basketball team and middle school boys track team.
Bob Crowl is the bass. He has many years experience singing
in church choirs and gospel quartets and became a barbershopper
in 2001. Bob is a past President of the Fun Center
Chordsmen, a JAD Chapter Counselor and 2010 Show
Chair. Currently he serves the chapter as the Vice President of Music and Performance. He is also a member of the Singing Buckeyes. He is a retired Associate Professor at North Central
State College.
R.F. ‘Bob’ Miller sings baritone. He is the editor of the chapter bulletin,
the International Award winning Chordsmen Chronicle and
Vice President of Marketing and PR for the Chapter and a Baritone Section Leader. He is
the Johnny Appleseed District VP for Marketing and PR. He
has been singing in church choirs since he was in the sixth
grade. He became a Fun Center Chordsmen in April of 2000.
