Under the direction of Music Director, Steve Kovach (Baritone in the 2008 Johnny Appleseed District Quartet Champion Cadillac Jack), and Assistant Directors Dave Kracker, and Trevor Garrabrant, the Fun Center Chordsmen is an active, enthusiastic, and growing men's singing organization. The Fun Center Chordsmen Chorus, founded in 1974, is the Mansfield, Ohio chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (SPEBSQSA) now called the Barbershop Harmony Society.

Men in the chorus come from all walks of life and all ages. They come together for common goals: to sing well, to enjoy the four part harmony sound, and to preserve the barbershop style of music. The chorus performs at events such as the Christmas at Malabar, the Memorial Day Service, the Korean Veterans Memorial Service as well as various other banquets, conventions and the Richland and Ashland County Fairs. They perform for local nursing homes, assisted living facilities and churches. The chorus also participates in the Johnny Appleseed District (JAD) competition arena. And they promote music education in schools in the five county area. Various quartets within the chorus present the Youth In Harmony Program to high schools in the five county area. They support the Harmony Foundation which provides grants to programs designed to foster and promote vocal music throughout the United States.

We meet at 7:00 p.m. every Monday night at the First Congregational Church at the corner of Marion Ave. and Millsboro Rd. All men who like to sing, regardless of age, are welcome to visit.
